bulletbullet Entry level for this program is GS-7, $34,149 as of Jan  2005.

bulletbullet  Promotions may occur at the rate of one per year if performance is acceptable, and the following pay rates are based on a normal progression.
bullet  Second year is at the GS-9 level ($41K to $45K).
bullet  Third year is at the GS-11 level ($50K to $54K)
bullet  Fourth year is at the GS-12 level ($60K to $65K).
bullet  Promotion beyond the GS-12 level is dependent on each Fellow’s job assignment location following the completion of the five-year program. 
bullet  Promotion to the GS-13 ($72K to $78K) for the fifth year is dependent on that location.

bullet The first six months of the program are conducted at AMC's Logistics Leadership Center in Texarkana Texas.  
bullet University courses supporting the graduate education program will also be taken in Texarkana:  at Texas A&M University-Texarkana.  Your total length of stay in Texarkana will be approximately 13 months total, depending on program layout.

The AMC Fellows Program is designed to develop quantitative, as well as qualitative skills.  Ideally-suited candidates for the Program should be willing and able to comprehend probability and statistics and how these mathematical topics apply to reliability theory, statistical process control and forecasting.  They will also be able to learn how to handle economic analysis problems involving the time value of money and discount factors.  They will possess basic computer skills, including the ability to use spreadsheets effectively.  Advanced topics in the Fellows Program will include the formulation and solution of mathematical and integer programming models, decision analysis and production planning and control.

 

After completion of the first thirteen months, each Fellow will begin a series of three on-the-job training assignments.  Each of the assignments will be thirteen to eighteen months in length and will be conducted at a different location. Typical locations for the year-long on-the-job training assignments include Detroit, Michigan; Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey; and Huntsville, Alabama.  Other training courses also occur during each year of the on-the-job training assignments.

  Movement expenses to the initial duty site, Texarkana, will not be paid.  However, the government will pay movement of household goods and mileage for moves  between training sites.   Preferred undergraduate majors for the Fellows program are Business, Management, and Engineering.  However, outstanding performers in other degree programs will be considered.
